“ I came across the Red Rooster accidentally which, I believe , is the best way to discover new things. The service was friendly and the pasty was one of the best lunches I’ve ever had. I don’t know about the other items on the menu because it’s the pasty for me. When the figgy hobbin was described to me I doubted immediately. Not a fan of nuts or raisins in my desserts… I tried anyway… warmed up with whipped cream. It was eye opening. A table of ladies who had ordered pie asked me what it was I was enjoying so much. “Figgy Hobbin”. I, for the first time ever, used my finger to lick a plate clean in public. ”
“ Each of us tried the Cornish Pasty with cucumber salad and we shared the Figgy Hobbin. The pasty was a bit bland but maybe it’s supposed to be that way? The Chili Sauce served with it was a necessity. If you like your cucumber and onion salad sweet this one is for you. The Figgy Hobbin was delicious and rich. I am glad we split it 3 ways. ”

“ Have to been to Mineral Point several times. First time at the Red Rooster. I love the idea of a vintage diner on the beautiful mainstreet of town. Got seated right away, and our server was extremely friendly, efficient, and helpful. We ordered a Tuna Fish Sandwich, and a Pasty. To be honest those items were not that good. The Pasty was really bland. Must have been why the server suggested that we use either the ketchup and/or the chili sauce. Definaltey much more tasty with the chili sauce. The side salad was large and fresh. The Tuna Sandwich was okay. Did finish the meal with a piece of the Figgyhobbin dessert. That was amazing, and made an otherwise bland meal, tolerable. Really like the feel of this restaurant, and it's got a great history. Just wished that the main dishes would have been better. Good luck :) ”

“ Our first time here. The service was great and the pasty was delicious, very filling. I highly recommend the devilled eggs for a starter. Fresh lemonade was great. But he best was dessert. My hubby devoured his apple pie with ice cream while I had their famous figgy hobbin. We had fun at the Red rooster and I highly recommend it. ”
